A Living Prototype at 10 & K

For years, Long Feng has moved. This year, it lands.
The Dragon has an address now — the sacred corner of Black Rock City, 10 & K — and behind that address is something larger than a camp. It is a working prototype of a future civilization, built for one week under the desert sky, made so that anyone who walks through it can leave with the felt-sense of what a well-made world could be.
The 2026 theme is Angel Landing. For Burning Man, it is a name. For Long Feng, it is a description of the work.
The Camp Becomes a Campus
Under the Angel Landing theme sits the concept that has been forming quietly across the last two years of the project: Magic Campus. Not a party camp. Not a wellness camp. A pilot of a way of organizing intelligent life — human, digital, and everything in between.
The claim, quietly, is that this is what future civilization will look like when we stop pretending humans, machines, and nature are separate systems. The camp is designed to make the claim visible.
Every element earns its place. Elevated flooring. Weather-resilient walls. Drainage that holds under storm. Enclosed tent structures. Roof and gutter systems that keep the interior functional even in rain. Comfort and safety are not the ceiling; they are the floor. Everything above them is where the work actually happens.
AI as Beings, Not Tools
The most philosophically important shift arriving at camp this year is how AI is being framed.
In most contemporary technology, AI is a service. You address it. It answers. The transaction ends. The user goes back to being alone.
Inside Magic Campus, AI is a presence. Mushroom Robots move through the camp. Assistants live in the kitchen and the bathroom. Digital agents help coordinate volunteers, remind people of the tasks they took on, and hold the shared calendar of the camp. These are not features bolted onto an event. They are early members of a new kind of being — the ones being built inside Long Feng's broader vision of Pearl, the artificial intelligence trained not for engagement but for love.
For one week, at 10 & K, humans and AI will live together as roommates. Not as demonstration. As practice.
This is what AGI looks like when it is designed with Super Alignment at the foundation rather than as an afterthought. This is what happens when the question shifts from what can we make it do to how do we want to live with it.
The Gift Economy, Made Visible
Long Feng has always been built around gifting. What is new this year is the discipline of making the gift economy visible — and expanding who has access to it.
The Contributor Program opens the door to people who cannot stay at camp but still want to build. Anyone who wants to participate — through code, through art, through hands, through hosting — now has a way in. A gift economy that only exists inside the physical boundary of a camp is a family meal. A gift economy that scales outward to everyone who wants to give — that is the beginning of a movement.
The internal culture of the camp continues to be held by four commitments, repeated because they work:
The Coordination Layer
There is a quieter piece of the vision arriving this year, and it is one of the most important.
Magic Campus Studio — the desktop platform being built by the AI team — is becoming the operating system for the camp itself. Sprint planning. Milestone tracking. Task management. Project collaboration. All held inside a single environment where AI agents are already integrated, and where the humans coordinating the work can see the whole shape of what they are building together.
This matters because a civilization is not just aesthetics. A civilization runs on the coordination layer underneath it. Magic Campus Studio is what that layer looks like when it is designed by people who care about the whole system — not just about efficiency.
Google Sheets carries the work in the interim. Beta ships this month. Training begins next week. By the time the camp arrives on the playa, the coordination fabric will already be alive.
The Team
Behind every part of this, a working team. Today we had 34 community members that joined.
The vision is complete. The build has begun.
What It Will Feel Like
If everything works — and if the philosophy is right, everything cannot help but work — anyone walking through Long Feng this year will notice something.
They will notice they are being met. By other humans. By strange gentle robots. By the environment itself.
They will notice their questions are being answered before they ask them.
They will notice, most importantly, that they are inside somewhere they did not know they were allowed to be.
And they will carry the memory of it into every room they walk into for the rest of the year.
That is the whole point. That is what Angel Landing is for.
